<p>An airflow control device (7, 17) for the nose with an airflow control element (19, 59) for directing airflow in a selected manner when disposed within the nasal cavity. The flow control element deflects air toward nasal air for natural filtering, mucous membranes to enhance lubrication, mucous flow, contaminant capture, and processing. Also, for a selected nasal passage the control element can decrease flow of air to an upper region of a nasal passage, and thus decrease flow to the selected nasal passage's corresponding sinuses. The device also includes an adhesive layer to directly adhere the device to the inner walls of the nose. The airflow control element may have a variety of surface contours, e.g., curved, straight, double curved, ridged, louvers; surface textures mesh; or shapes oval, rectangular, semicircular or crescent.</p> |
