Personal body fat measurement scales use the same electrodes for current supply to the body and voltage measurement across the body, simplifying design and construction of the scales

Body fat measurement scales have electrodes (3, 4) in the positions in which a bare-footed person stands on the scales. The electrodes are used both for current supply to the body and also for voltage measurement. In addition the scales have a weighing mechanism (6), and an analysis device (9) for determination of the user's body fat from current, voltage and weight measurements. Contact to the feet can be improved by use of projections or shaping of the electrodes.
