PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a rotary transformer. CONSTITUTION: A timing signal generating unit 21 of this signal processing apparatus detects a control signal superimposed on a power signal from the same signal outputted from a power transmitting channel 12 of a rotary transformer 11 in order to generate a timing signal. A head switching signal generating unit 22 generates a switching signal for switching reproducing heads 27-1, 2 7-2 from the timing signal. The reproducing signal is outputted from the reproducing channel 15 of the rotary transformer via the switch 26.
