The protection device has a covering (6) fastened to the fitting or to a connection block for the fitting, to cover outlets of fitting or block. A cylindrical apron (1) with mainly closed periphery encloses fitting resp. block, and is connected detachable to the covering via webs. The covering is screwed to fastening openings of fitting or block. The apron has open apertures (3) on one side for pipes, and extends to the base of a wall recess accommodating the fitting.
