A polymer product (I) comprises the reaction product of: (A) at least one hydroxy-functional compound; with (B) at least one epoxidized product of a carboxylic acid ester. Independent claims are also included for: (i) a process for the production of (I) by compounding (A) and (B), preferably with additives and cross-linking of the composition; (ii) a flat sheet comprising a substrate sheet, a top coat, optionally a back coating under the substrate of a chemically or mechanically foamed foam layer, optionally a compact or base layer that is arranged between the substrate and the topcoat and/or between the substrate and the base coating with optionally a chemical foam layer under the topcoat, whereby the coating composition for the top coat, back coat, base coat and/or foam coat comprises (I); and (iii) a process for the production of the flat sheet by pressing, calendering or extrusion of (I).
