PURPOSE: A remote controller is provided to be connected to a telephone line to perform a reserved recording from an exterior, and to process reserved recording data to operate a video tape recorder, so as to perform an exact reserved recording when power is on before a reserved recording start time, even when an instant blackout is generated. CONSTITUTION: A telephone circuit(3) has a telephone line input jack(1) and an output jack(2), and is controlled by a micro computer(5). A voice memory(10) stores an announcing voice signal for reserved recording, and transmits the voice signal under control of the micro computer(5), when a telephone line is connected. A memory(7) stores reserved recording data applied through the telephone line under control of the micro computer(5). The micro computer(5) controls driving operations of the telephone circuit(3), the voice memory(10), and the memory(7), and compares a present time with a reserved recording time of a clock unit(9), then transmits a remote controller signal of a video tape recorder through a transmitter(6), when a recording is started.
