In the method for cutting a paper web (W) in an apparatus for forming or processing the web, the web is cut by making incisions (1) or weakenings therein, the travel direction of which forms an angle ( alpha ) with the travel direction (D) of the web, the absolute value of said angle being larger than 0 DEG and smaller than 90 DEG .
