PURPOSE: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display device which is excellent in mechanical strength and is formable as a larger screen and narrower picture frame. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with parts(9) for positioning a liquid crystal display module having positioning ribs(8) in both sided parts of an upper case(1) and positioning holes(9a) to be inserted with the positioning ribs(8) in both side parts of the liquid crystal display module(3). As a result, in assembling the liquid crystal display module(3) by housing the module into the upper case(1) consisting of a resin material and a lower case(2) consisting of a metallic material, such as a magnesium alloy, having high rigidity, the liquid crystal display module(3) is arranged on the lower case(3) by offsetting the same from the prescribed position by a distance B necessary for inserting pawls(7) in the upper side part of the upper case(1) into grooves(2a) of the lower case(2) and after the pawls(7) are fitted into the grooves(2a), the tapered parts(8a) at the front ends of the positioning ribs(8) are abutted on the end faces of the positioning holes(9a) and while the liquid crystal display module(3) is pushed up in the upper side part direction via the abutment parts, the liquid crystal display module may be moved to the prescribed position, by which the purpose described above may be achieved.
