Direct synthesis of methylchlorosilane, useful in synthesis of linear polysiloxanes, where the dust separated from the reaction mixture is cooled with liquid chloromethane

In the direct synthesis of methylchlorosilanes (A) from chloromethane (I) and silicon in presence of copper catalyst and promoter, dust particles (DP), separated from the gaseous components of the reaction mixture are cooled with liquid (I). A reaction mixture, containing (A), (I) and DP (of copper, promoter and silicon), is withdrawn continuously and the DP is separated.
