The present invention provides a nucleic acid molecule encoding human Angiopoietin-6 (Ang-6) protein. In addition the invention provides methods for producing recombinant human Ang-6 protein. The invention also provides an antibody which specifically binds human Ang-6 protein. The invention further provides for therapeutic compositions.
