PURPOSE: A semi-finished product guiding apparatus and method are provided to minimize guiding variance or cost for a sensor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a servicer(7), roller(3) installed in the intermediate portion of the servicer, a cylinder(6) installed at the end of the servicer, a unit for driving the cylinder, a guide bar(5) connected to the cylinder and reciprocating in the vertical direction to the advance direction of a side wall(1), and a fixed guide bar(8) arranged to face the guide bar with a predetermined spacing formed between the guide bars and fixed to the servicer. A method comprises the steps of (a)moving the side wall onto the servicer toward a shaping drum(4); (b)advancing the guide bar in the vertical direction to the moving direction of the side wall, and allowing the end of the side wall to contact the fixed guide bar of the servicer; (c)returning back the guide bar to the original position of the guide bar; and (d)repeating the steps(b,c) at a predetermined time interval during the motion of the side wall.
