PURPOSE: A process for preparing a polyester thick and thin yarn by false twisting an undrawn polyester filament yarn is provided, which has an effect on expressing two tones at the same time. CONSTITUTION: This thick and thin fiber is prepared by false twisting an undrawn polyester filament yarn having a mono filamenent fineness of less than 2.7 in the range of a natural drawing ratio of an undrawn high multi filament yarn of 1.55 to 1.65 at a treatment temperature of a hot pin of 85 to 105deg.C, in a drawing ratio between a first feed roller and a second feed roller at a treatment temperature of a first heater of 200 to 220deg.C.
