PURPOSE: A rear projection screen is provided to improve uniformity and contrast of a screen by minimizing a difference of strength of light beams between a central part and a peripheral part of the screen by carrying out vertical line-polarizing for light beams by a vertical polarizing plate of a lenticular lens of the screen. CONSTITUTION: A rear projection screen includes liquid crystal panels respectively displaying images corresponding image signals, an optical synthetic element for synthesizing the images of the liquid crystal panels, a projection optical system for expanding the synthesized image to project, and a screen for displaying the expanded image, wherein the screen is provided with a lenticular lens(50), and the lenticular lens has first cylindrical lenses(52) formed on a light incident surface, second cylindrical lenses(54) formed on a light emitting surface, black stripes(58) formed between the second cylindrical lenses for blocking external light, and a vertical line polarizing plate(56) between the light incident surface and the light emitting surface for minimizing the introduction of the external light. |
