PURPOSE: The system for punching paging information on pilot channels in wireless communication systems is provided to reduce power consumption generated due to periodical, unnecessary paging channel search by inserting the paging information into the pilot channels. CONSTITUTION: A BTS(Base station Transceiver System) modulates paging information in an OOK(On-Off-Keying) method using a Hash function in accordance with a pilot slot and punches it on a pilot channel. A mobile station discriminates its own paging signal from other signals by receiving a pulse corresponding to its own slot. In order to adjust the synchronization between the BTS and the mobile station, the slots of the pilot channel are synchronized with the slots of the paging channel. Receiving a paging indicator on the pilot channel, the mobile station searches a paging channel corresponding to the next slot. |
