The roof-mounted taxi display has a holder (1) which is secured to the vehicle roof (2) and provided with a transparent light envelope (3) fitted with an opaque cover plate (4) with transparent areas deliniating the word taxi and a free area (6) which can be fitted with replaceable adhesive symbols, e.g. for providing a taxi operator or taxi driver number.
