<p>A scraper (2, 20, 36) for use in removal of a material (such as ice) from a surface (such as a vehicle window). The scraper (2, 20, 36) comprising a hollow body defining an internal cavity, a heat transfer medium (10, 34) retained within the cavity and enclosed by the body, and a blade (4, 24) connected to (or arranged to be connected to) the body. The body can be placed in a microwave oven for heating of the heat transfer medium (10, 34) therein. This permits storage of thermal energy after removal of the body from the oven and transfer of thermal energy from the medium to the blade (4, 24).</p> |
