PURPOSE: An expansion joint apparatus of a railway rail is provided to maximize the elasticity of a rail contact part, to joint/disjoint easily and to absorb the shock of a railway by fastening a movable rail and a tongue rail by an elastic clip, and to prevent the instability of a track, vibration and noise by fastening a track firmly. CONSTITUTION: An expansion joint apparatus of a railway rail comprises a movable rail (1) supported upward from the base plate (10) by a clip plate (13) where the elastic clip (11) is inserted and a rail brace (16) installed to be movable with the clip plate (13), a tongue rail (2) supported to a base plate (10) by an elastic clip (11), a tongue rail fastening part (3) coupled with a rail fastening brace (19) to fasten the tongue rail (2) as adhered closely to the movable rail (1), and a rail contact part (21) contacting the movable rail (1) and the front of the tongue rail (2).
