The method involves determining a road surface inclination parameter, determining a braking parameter related to activation/deactivation of the braking system and, if the braking parameter corresponding to a state in which rolling away can occur or is occurring, driving the coupling to set a coupling braking torque at least depending on the detected inclination parameter. An Independent claim is also included for a drive system.
