The tracking and remote-control device (10) uses an IR sensor (22) for detecting an electrically modulated IR beam provided by an IR laser (16) mounted on the rocket (12) at a remote tracking unit (14), for providing a corresponding electrical signal, which is filtered and analyzed for providing rocket position signals, used by a remote control. The signals from the IR sensor can be filtered via a transversal filter (26).
