The method involves sending a calibration signal over several transmission paths (TX1,..), detecting the signal components coupled into the associated reception paths (RX2,..), deriving the amplitude and phase deviations of all transmission or reception paths compared to a reference transmission function for all transmitted calibration signals and trimming phase and amplitude setting elements (PTX1,..;ATX1,..) in the transmission or reception paths to minimise the deviations.
