PURPOSE: A PDP(Plasma Display Panel) is provided to prevent erroneous electric discharge and reduce power consumption occurred when address discharge of the PDP. CONSTITUTION: A top panel(20) and a bottom panel(22) are arranged parallel with each other on the other side of a partition wall. Each discharge cell of the top panel(20) of an alternating current surface discharge PDP comprises a pair of sustain electrodes(26) formed on rear side of a top substrate(24) in a line each other, a pair of metal bus electrodes(28) formed on the sustain electrodes(26) in a line respectively, a top dielectric layer(30) formed on the sustain electrodes(26), the metal bus electrodes (28) and the top panel(20) and a protective film(32) formed on the top dielectric layer(30). The bottom panel(22) formed on a bottom substrate(52) in a direction lying at right angles to the pair of sustain electrodes(26) comprises an address electrode(54) on which a protrusion part(56) is formed at a position intersecting the sustain electrodes(26), a bottom dielectric layer(58) formed even on the address electrode(54) and the bottom substrate(52) with uniform height and a fluorescent material(60) applied on the bottom dielectric layer(58). |
