PURPOSE: The method for providing extrinsic service state information is provided to control extrinsic services by providing a state information inquiry function for all extrinsic service associated with the present registered calls to mobile subscribers joined to various extrinsic services provided from mobile communication networks. CONSTITUTION: If a mobile subscriber(100) requests the state inquiry of an available extrinsic service to a mobile communication system(200) using a feature code and his password(S10), the mobile communication system requests an HLR(Home Location Register)(300) to confirm the state information of the available extrinsic service for the mobile subscriber(S20). The HLR detects the state information of the extrinsic service associated with the call of the mobile subscriber from its database and provides a relevant result to the mobile communication system(S30). The mobile communication system processes the state information of a parameter form, transmitted from the HLR, for the available extrinsic service into a form of a data burst message or a short message(S40) and judges whether the amount of the processed data can be transmitted through a paging channel at a time(S50). If the amount of the data can be transmitted at a time, the mobile communication system provides the data burst message or the short message to the mobile subscriber through the paging channel(S60). In case that it is judged that the amount of the data cannot be transmitted at a time, the mobile communication system sets up a traffic channel with the mobile subscriber(S70). The mobile communication system, after providing the data burst message or the short message to the mobile subscriber through the set traffic channel(S80), releases the traffic channel(S90).
