PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher constituted so that the constitution of elevating and lowering an elevating/lowering tray is simple, a cost is low, a large space for placing a dish basket can be secured inside a washing tub, and the upper/lower movement length of the dish basket can be sufficiently secured. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises: a mounting means which is elevated and lowered inside the washing tub in the state of mounting the dish basket; a hanging rope which is laid so as to lift the mounting means accompanying the withdrawal of the washing tub; an energizing means which is provided so as to oppose the traction of the hanging rope accompanying the withdrawal of the washing tub; and a lock device for constraining the lifting upward movement of the mounting means. The restriction of the lock device is released accompanying the withdrawal completion of the washing tub, and the lifting upward movement of the mounting means is performed by the energizing force of the energizing means.
