PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use the tip side half portion and the base side half portion of the cutting blade portion of a sickle, respectively. SOLUTION: This cover body detachably attached to the cutting blade portion of the sickle to cover the cutting blade portion is characterized in that the cover body comprises a tip side half cover body portion for covering at least the tip side half blade edge portion of the cutting blade portion, and a base side half cover body portion for covering at least the base side half blade edge portion of the cutting blade portion. Thus, either of the tip side half cover body portion and the base side half blade edge portion is attached to the tip side half blade edge portion or the base side half blade edge portion to expose at least the base side half blade edge portion or the tip side half blade edge portion.
