PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod such as a rod for boat fishing, especially an ear tip keeping its stiffness and excellent in flexure, wherein light weight, high elasticity, and plastic deformation prevention are realized and, and then, plastic deformation of a fiber reinforced resin prepreg layer is prevented. SOLUTION: The ear tip of a fishing rod is formed by laminating a fiber-reinforced resin prepreg layer 11 on a base rod side more than an X position corresponding to the specific maximum bending point D based on bending load applied on a solid state core material 10.
