The gear shift unit has a shift lever (1) and a release lever (10). The unit housing (2) has a pivoted locking element moved by the release lever. The element has a first and a second locking nose (13,14), acting with first and second tooth segment (8,9) of a release and holder mechanism. This causes an actuator part (3) to be turned by a traction force applied by the cable (5), when one of the noses is disengaged from the tooth segment. |
