PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling compartment of a high and medium pressure turbine having a cooling structure of a compartment in a linking part of a high pressure turbine and a medium pressure turbine for evenly spreading cooling steam flow from a high pressure part nipple to a medium pressure part nipple, uniformly, smoothly and surely performing cooling and enhancing a cooling effect. SOLUTION: A bypass path 8a for supplying cooling steam of a high pressure part to a medium pressure part is opened eccentrically for a center shaft of the corresponding medium pressure part nipple 4 or a center shaft of the corresponding high pressure part nipple 3 on at least either one side of the medium pressure part side and the high pressure part side. Cooling steam 6 is made to generate revolving components and cooling steam 6 is evenly spread to a downstream side or an upstream side of the bypass path 8a. A smooth, sure and uniform cooling is performed and a cooling effect is improved.
