PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper receiving device for a gathering machine for piling collated papers in a condition having small broken papers due to a slip, before and behind or right and left. SOLUTION: In a paper receiving device for juxtaposedly fixing plural back plates 4b at intervals to the front end part of a paper receiving mount 3 arranged in the paper discharging port 2 part of a gathering machine, and comprized by oscillatingly supporting the base end parts of a pair of belt platelike guides 6, wherein the tip parts of which are penetrating the interval part and extending to the outer side of the back plates 4b arround a horizontal axial line 8 on a frame 7; a cylindrical weight 37 arranged on the inner side of the plates 4b is rotatably supported around a center axial line 38 between two end plates 36 crossing the interval part, to link the upper parts of the plates 36 protruded to the outer side of the plates 4b by a linking rod 40, and also a weight 31 for the paper receiving device, comprized by fixedly providing a supporting shaft 39 engaging with the upper surface of the tip part of the guide 6, is equipped on the lower part of the plates 36.
