PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a lens with high accuracy and to maintain the excellent quality of an attached face by blocking a hollow hole through a blocking member in machining the lens attached to a recessed plate. SOLUTION: In machining a lens 11 adhesively fixed to a recessed plate 10, a plug member 22 is screwed inward, and a spherical member 21 is pressed to the inlet aperture of a hollow hole 13 to block communication between a suction hole 24 and the hollow hole 13. The lens 11 is pressed to a polishing plate, and the recessed plate 10 is swung through an upper shaft part to grind and polish the lens 11. A grinding solution is supplied to a machined part from a grinding solution supply hose, but since the suction hole 24 and hollow hole 13 are blocked by the spherical member 21, a splash of the grinding solution is prevented from infiltrating into the recessed plate 10. Burning and fouling can thereby be prevented, and the cause of fouling in taking off the lens 11 can be eliminated.
