PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a topical composition effective in preventing damage to skin base on ultraviolet irradiation by making the composition include a specific polysiloxane compound and a tocopherol compound. SOLUTION: This topical composition is obtained by including (A) about 1-30 wt.% of a polysiloxane compound represented by formula I or II [X is R or A (A is a group represented by formula III to V; R is H, a 1-6C alkyl or phenyl; R1 and R2 are each H, hydroxy, a 1-6C alkyl or a 1-6C alkoxy; R3 is a 1-6C alkyl; R4 is H or a 1-6C alkyl; R5 and R6 are each H or a 1-6C alkyl; r is 0-250; s is 0-20; (r+s)>=3; t and v are each 0-10; (t+v)>=3; n is 1-6; at least one X is A when s is 0] and (B) about 0.5-15 wt.% of a tocopherol compound, preferably tocopherol acetate.
