摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a polymer web to improve the adhesion of a light-sensitive coating film material and/or normally coated layer and to provide a proper surface characteristics, and further to provide a treating apparatus. SOLUTION: The web 12 passes through a high voltage sheath region or a dark space 14 of a plasma generated by an electrode present in a discharging zone and having supplied electric power. The frequency of a driving voltage must be not less than the lower limit regulated by the properties of a polymer supporter and the plasma, and not larger than the upper limit at which the sheath voltage is extremely lowered. The reduction of the gain of an approach is observed. The dark space 14 is generated by a treating electrode at the treating zone. A counter electrode 26 having a surface area at least larger than that of the treating electrode is present in the treating zone. The apparatus has an electric source 20 for driving the treating electrode by a vibrating high voltage having a frequency of about 2 MHz or less and larger than 1/tc (tc is a charging time of the web surface exposed to rms ion current in the plasma).
