PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of a thread splitting at a junction part in the case of a first and a second embroidery zones formed in a continuous condition through the junction part. SOLUTION: A first embroidery range A1, with the stitch direction of (a) and the sewing direction of (b), sewn first, and a second embroidery range A2, with the stitch direction of (c) and the sewing direction of (d), sewn next, overlap with each other at a junction part A3. In deciding the sewing direction of the embroidery range A2, a line Lp passing a center point O of an outline of the embroidery range A2 at the part of the junction part A3 in parallel to the direction of (a) is found, and a line Ln passing an intersection P0 on the side of the embroidery range A2 among intersections of the line Lp with the outline of the embroidery range A1 in parallel to the direction of (d) is found. A vertex P3 is set on the line Lp on the side of the embroidery range A1, and points P1, P2 are set on the line Ln on both sides of the intersection P0. When an angleθ1 formed by the points P1, P0, P3 is equal to or smaller than an angleθ2 formed by the points P2, P0, P3, it is decided as the direction of d1 directed from the point P1 to the point P2, and whenθ1 is larger thanθ2, it is decided as the opposite direction of d2.
