PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high speed perfecting in a printer where a plurality of sheets can be printed simultaneously. SOLUTION: Two print recording media PM are handled as a set in perfecting. At first, a specified number (e.g. 2) of print recording media are fed set by set and printed on one side (PM1-PM4). A set of print recording media (PM1, PM2) refed on an inverting passage is then perfected and a set of new print recording media (PM5, PM6) are printed on one side. Subsequently, one and the other sides of the media are printed alternately thus realizing high speed perfecting. Upon occurrence of a run out of sheet error, previously printed print recording media are printed in units of set and new print recording media are printed in units of sheet. |
