PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a polyester fiber for reinforcing a hose, excellent in adhesion to an EPDM-based rubber and flexibility by attaching an adhesion-treating agent containing an initial condensate of resorcin-formaldehyde and ethylene-α- olefin-nonconjugated diene rubber latex, to the polyester fiber. SOLUTION: An adhesion-treating agent having 5-20 wt.% concentration of the total solid components is prepared by mixing a resorcin-formaldehyde initial condensate A, an ethylene-α-olefin-nonconjugated diene rubber latex B, a vinylpyridine-styrene-conjugated diene rubber latex C having 0.01-5μm weight averaged particle diameter and/or a polybutadiene rubber latex D in the proportions of B/C=(40/60)-(90/10) and B/D=(50/50)-(90/10) expressed in terms of the weight of the solid. The obtained adhesion-treating agent is fixed on the polyester fiber having a previously attached treating agent containing a polyepoxide compound to provide the objective polyester fiber for reinforcing a hose. |
