PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasticizer which gives an excellent plasticity to a thermoplastic resin by blending a low-molecular-weight ethylene/ethylenic unsaturated ester copolymer as the active ingredient of the plasticizer. SOLUTION: The active ingredient of a plasticizer is a low-moleclar-weight ethylene/ethylenic unsaturated ester copolymer (A) having an ethylene unit content of 1-90 wt.% and a number average molecular weight of about 1,000-20,000. The plasticizer can contain 0.01-10 times heavier weight of an inorganic filler such as talc, mica, silica and the like than the component A. The ethylenic unsaturated ester copolymer of the component A is preferably vinyl acetate, methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, n-butyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, or their mixture. Preferable thermoplastic resins to be plasticized with this plasticizer are polyolefins and olefinic copolymers. Preferably 0.1-30 times heavier weight of the content A than the thermoplastic resin is used.
