PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe incense stick simply and surely ignitable even under a bad weather such as in wind and rain and to provide an ignition tool capable of safely and surely igniting a commercially available incense stick. SOLUTION: This incense stick is obtained by making a readily ignitable ignition material 2 such as a match head chemical or a safety explosive to the tip of an incense stick body 1. The ignition material 2 can surely be ignited by striking thereof on a side chemical of a matchbox or can directly and surely be ignited with a match, etc. The incense stick can be produced by integrating the tip thereof with the ignition material 2 at the time of production. An ignition tool equipped with an ignition material 2 mountable on the tip of a commercially available incense stick into the form of a cap is further composed.
