PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for electrostatic coating enabling unwanted scattered paint not to attach to the inside of a booth. SOLUTION: In a method which forms a coated film by coating with a liquid paint using an electrostatic coating machine on the surface of the substrate to be coated while continuously transporting the substrate to be coated, a pattern type of scattered paint particles which are coated electrostatically is controled by providing an electrostatic machine having the same polarity as an electrostatic coating device at the upper stream or down stream, or both site thereof in the process of forming the coated film on the surface of the substrate to be coated by the electrostatic coating machine.
