PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking apparatus with which a bagged food, after cooked, can be taken out after it is cooled with cold water in stead of taking it out of hot water. SOLUTION: This cooking apparatus 1 constitutes a cooking kettle 2 with a inside pot 7 and an outside pot 8 which is fixed around the inside pot 7 to form a jacket space 9. After a bagged food is heated and cooked by supplying heated steam to the jacket space 9 to heat the water stored in the inside pot 7, the hot water is drained out of the inside pot 7 by opening a draining valve 4 fixed to the cooking kettle 2 and after closing this draining valve again, cooled water is supplied to the inside pot 7 and the jacket space 9.
