PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin for covering a wire excellent in flame- retardancy, tensile elongation, and long-term durability. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic copolymerized polyester resin obtained from an acid component composed mainly of terephathalic acid and a hydrogenated dimer acid or respective ester- forming derivatives thereof and 1,4-butainediol as a glycol component, 5-100 pts.wt. of a bromine-containing flame-retardant, 1-50 pts.wt. of an inorganic flame-retardant auxiliary 0.01-5 pts.wt. of a crosslinking agent, and the acid component of the thermoplastic copolymerized polyester resin contains 0.5-30 mole % of a dimer acid component.
