REAR-WHEEL STEERING CONTROL DEVICE FOR TWO REAR AXLE VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start a vehicle smoothly by steering rear-side front wheels with a relatively compact rear-side front wheel steering means. SOLUTION: A front wheel steering means 21 and a rear-side front wheel steering means 22 are driven by an engine. A controller 60 controls the engine and controls the rear-side front wheel steering means 22 so that it steers rear- side front wheels 13 in the same direction as front wheels 11 based on each detection output from a front steering angle sensor 56 for detecting a steering angle of the front wheels 11 and a vehicle speed sensor 58 for detecting vehicle speed. When the vehicle speed sensor 58 detects vehicle speed below a first reference value and angle difference between a target steering angle of the rear-side front wheels 13 based on the steering angle of the front wheels 11 and an actually measured steering angle is a second reference value or above, the controller 60 increases the engine speed up to a third reference value. When the steering difference is below the second reference value or a specified time has elapsed, the controller 60 returns the engine speed to the original speed.
