PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop cock for preventing water theft by detachably fastening the upper end by a screw by inserting a cylinder part of a dial type lock into a valve stem of the stop cock, and covering a screw part with a cap with a dial removable only when put in an unlocked state. SOLUTION: The cylinder part 3 of the dial type lock 3 is inserted into the valve stem 1 of the stop cock S to fasten the upper end by the screw, and a screw part is constituted so as to be covered with the cap 4 with the dial. When fastening the cylinder part 3 to the valve stem 1 by the screw, a flat countersunk head screw 8 is screwed in a screw hole 1a via a washer 7. When opening the stop cock S, dial rings 4a, 4a, etc., are rotated, the dial is adjusted to the number of becoming an unlocking state, and the cap 4 with a dial is extracted and removed from the cylinder part 3. Next, screw-fastening is removed by using a tool such as a driver, and the cylinder part 3 is removed from the valve stem 1. A handle is installed on the valve stem 1 to operate the stop cock S to thereby effectively prevent water theft.
