PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To work a reheating operation itself effectively to suppress the increase in thermophilic bacillus in cooked rice even if there are any causes for driving a quantity of rice wrong such as addition of hot food on the cooked rice while it is being kept hot. SOLUTION: This rice cooker is provided with a controller 14 for controlling the operation of a gas heater controlling section 13. By the working of the controller 14, even if the temperature of the bottom of a pot detected by a pot bottom temperature sensor 81 reaches 180 deg.C during a reheating operation, the reheating operation is continued if the temperature of the fringe of the pot detected by a pot fringe temperature sensor 82 is less than 90 deg.C. And, when the temperature of the fringe becomes 160 deg.C, the reheating operation is stopped.
