PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel Klebsiella pneumoniae that is transformed with an expression vector of Escherichia coli including the structural gene of the water-soluble pyrroloquinolinequinone glucose dehydrogenation enzyme originating from Acinetobacter calcoaceticus. SOLUTION: This novel microorganism is a Klebsiella pneumoniae that is transformed with an Escherichia coli expression vector including the structural gene of a water-soluble pyrroloquinolinequinone glucose dehydrogenation enzyme (PQQGDH) originating from Acinetobacter calcoaceticus and is capable of producing a coenzyme, pyrroloquinolinequinone (PQQ) and can produce PQQGDH in no need of expensive PQQ. The transformed microorganism is obtained by introducing the structural gene of water-soluble PQQGDH originating from Acinetobacter calcoaceticus is inserted into the multicloning site of the expression vector of Escherichia coli. |
