摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a uniform and glossy coating film on the surface of a ceramic building material by using an emulsion coating material which contains an acrylic copolymer obtained by emulsion polymerization as the main ingredient and contains polyvinyl alcohol in a specified content and of which the average particle size of emulsion particles is in a specified range. SOLUTION: The average particle size of emulsion particles is in the range of 0.01 to 0.3μm, and 1 to 10 pts.wt. polyvinyl alcohol is contained based on 100 pts.wt. solid content of the aqueous emulsion coating material containing, as the main ingredient, an acrylic copolymer prepared by emulsion polymerization. The Ford cup viscosity is preferably 5 to 60 sec. The addition of 2 to 10 pts.wt. nonionic surfactant and 0.4 to 5 pts.wt. anionic surfactant, based on 100 pts.wt. acrylic monomer, is also preferable. Preferably, the aqueous emulsion coating material is applied in excess to a ceramic building material with a shower coater; and then air is blown with an air nozzle to remove the excess coating material, which is recovered and reused for coating.
