PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a large quantity of sub-betuminous coal to blow and to obtain the reduction of a cost and the improvement of productivity by using the blowing fuel, in which carbonaceous materials having different volatile matter are blended in the respective specified quantities. SOLUTION: The blowing fuel, in the case of blending too much subbituminous coal having high volatile matter, is unsuitable because the combustion of the pulverized fine coal is excessive and the gasification of the pulverized fine coal is quickened. Further, in the case of blending too much anthracite coal having little volatile matter, it is unsuitable because the combustion of the pulverized fine coal is lowered. Therefore, the coal blended at 10-45 wt.% sub-bituminous coal containing >=40 wt.% volatile matter and at 55-70 wt.% anthracite coal containing <=10 wt.% volatile matter, is used as the blowing fuel. This blended coal shows the combustion characteristic equal to that of the non-caking fine coal and therefore, can be burned with the equal efficiency. Further, the deviation of ascending gas to a furnace body side is corrected and the variation of blowing gas is little and the blowing gas is stabilized, and consequently, the operation is stabilized.
