摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the whole of a bridge pier sound by arranging a lateral beam arranged with a shear type damper and web at the central part in a state where no girder is placed between the bridge piers, a seismic energy is concentrated in the lateral beam and is then absorbed. SOLUTION: A shear type damper 4 is installed to the central part of a lateral beam 3 formed to a box type cross section, and the part 5a of a web 5 is arranged. Also, at both the sides of the damper 4, a diaphragm 7 is provided and a floor slab 9 is arranged on the top surface of the lateral beam 2 through a girder 8. And a seismic energy during a great earthquake is absorbed by a shear damper 4 arranged at the center of the lateral beam 3 and a web 5a covering the shear damper 5, thereby easing the deformation at the base portion or the like of a bridge pier having a high structural importance and a great difficulty in repairing, by which any repair after a great earthquake can be achieved by replacing only the lateral beam 3. And then the bending moment can be redistributed, the rigidity of the cross section can be reduced and the weight of the bridge pier can be lowered.
