<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent burning of a heat generating resistor even in the case an active period of an application enable signal, for applying a driving voltage is prolonged abnormally. SOLUTION: This regulating circuit 30 comprises a pulse producing circuit 31, a counter circuit 32, and a latch circuit 33. When an application enable signal ENL0 is activated, the latch circuit 33 is set, and the counter circuit 32 is started. When the count value of the counter circuit 32 reaches a value set by data S4, a reset pulse S3 is outputted from the counter circuit 32, and the latch circuit 33 is reset forcibly. A signal of a Q terminal of the latch circuit 33 is inputted to an application enable terminal of a thermal head as an application enable signal ENL1. Since a heat generating resistor is not driven for heat generation beyond a maximum value of the active period set by the data S4, the risk of burning can be eliminated.</p> |
