PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe automobile seat easily operable, and excellent in reliability and strength. SOLUTION: This seat 20 has a base assembly fixed to an automobile body 30, and two end parts connected by an articulated system to a shaft fixed to a seat cushion 22 and the base assembly respectively. The seat 20 has also an articulated support assembly 32 having a front and rear support links 34, 36 for the seat cushion 22 of a seat, a device for adjusting an angular position of the support links 34, 36 with respect to the seat cushion 22, and a device for adjusting a position of a backrest 24 with respect to the cushion 22. The adjusting device has an articulated projecting or recessed quadrilateral having four corner parts S1-S4, the first corner part S1 is connected to the seat cushion 22, and the second and fourth corner parts S2, S4 are connected to the backrest 24.
