PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a new organic polymer composite inorganic fine particle by using a stable raw material in a few production processes by a simple production method and to obtain the new organic polymer composite inorganic fine particle having excellent performances useful for a coating material, etc., its dispersant and composition. SOLUTION: This organic polymer composite inorganic fine particle is obtained by chemically bonding an organic polymer chain to the surface of an inorganic fine particle. In the chemical bond, a metal atom constituting the inorganic fine particle is bonded through an oxygen atom to a carbon atom in the organic polymer chain. This method for producing the organic polymer composite inorganic fine particle is a method for producing the organic polymer composite inorganic fine particle obtained by chemically bonding the organic polymer chain to the surface of the inorganic fine particle and comprises condensing a condensable metal compound in the presence of a hydroxyl group- containing organic polymer.
