PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge paper sheets while positively separating them sheet by sheet. SOLUTION: This paper sheet conveying device is provided with an upper stacking part 1 and a lower stacking part 2 where bills S are stored, a delivery roller 20 disposed between the upper stacking part 1 and lower stacking part 2, and gate rollers 4 and feed rollers 5 for leading the bills S in and out. The delivery roller 20 is composed of a front roller 21 and a rear roller 22 with the same outer peripheral diameter. The inner periphery 22a of the rear roller 22 is formed smaller than the inner periphery 21a of the front roller 21 so that the rear roller 22 rotates twice during one rotation of the front roller 21. A delivery member 22b is provided at one part on the outer periphery of the rear roller 22, and delivery members 21b, 21c are provided at two opposed parts on the outer periphery of the front roller 21. The peripheral speed of the feed roller 5 is set to the same speed as the peripheral speed of the front roller 21.
